Summary: 

Provide on-site coordination for all phases of commercial construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, materials, and equipment, ensuring that plans and specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule. Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities of Superintendent: 

  • Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion. Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
  • Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.
  • Ensure subcontractor(s) has corrected all deficiencies identified by the project team.
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
  • Lead weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate work including sequencing and overall performance.
  • Lead weekly safety meetings with all onsite subcontractors.
  • Identify and notify management of subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors with regards to quality of work or scheduling.
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
  • Schedule and facilitate inspections all project inspections
  • Always maintain a safe work environment and take corrective measures immediately when hazards are identified.
  • Maintain daily log of activities, manpower, inspections, and dumpsters on the jobsite using Procore.
  • Track inventory of supplies and materials to guard against loss and ensure that materials are ordered and delivered to meet the schedule.
  • Open job site at the beginning of the day and secure the job site at the end of the day.
  • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
  • Perform timely and accurate project closeout procedures (punchlist)

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Preferred – Minimum of 5 years of experience in building construction of ground ups, multi-story ground ups, tilt wall, strip centers, storage facilities, office complex
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend construction plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of commercial structural concrete procedures, practices, equipment, and testing procedure
  • Ability to direct work as needed for employees and sub-contractors
  • Possess a strong sense of personal responsibility and customer service
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Microsoft office skills
  • Strong commitment to maintain a safe, secure, and clean work environment in compliance with OSHA
  • Must have positive attitude, be willing to enforce company policies and support a strong culture of teamwork and accountability.
